چکیده

Late blight caused by Phytophthora infestans is the most devastating disease of potato crops worldwide. Control practices mostly rely on synthetic fungicides or copper-based products. In recent years, biological control agents have generated significant enthusiasm as eco-friendly sustainable alternatives. Here, filtrates 149 filamentous fungi and yeasts were tested in vitro against P. MUCL 54981. The effective then combined alginate beads with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus (AMF) Rhizophagus irregularis 41833 for their compatibility, finally greenhouse efficacy . Penicillium aurantiogriseum 47586 , griseofulvum 29201 Trichoderma virens 18139, Verticillium psalliotae 18310 totally suppressed conidial germination growth whole plants only filtrate T. significantly plant infestation. With exception none selected affected germination, root colonization, spore production R. following entrapment beads. According to these results, was experiment variety Annabelle. used leaf spray and/or treatment combination entrapped Root treatments AMF alone well reduced area under progress curve compared non-treated plants. LC-MS analyses showed koninginin D, gliotoxin, koningic acid, three antifungal compounds, which could impacted Conversely, foliar application filtrate, whether colonized not, did not reduce symptoms disease, possibly because conditions making more susceptible counterbalancing positive effects antimicrobial secondary metabolites AMF. Our results demonstrated potential a 18139 into strategy

Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi: Biocontrol against Fusarium Wilt of Chickpea

The present study shows the status of mycorrhization in three test varieties of chickpea. As the results revealed irrespective to the crops when arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) were assessed under the influence of soil quality better results were obtained with unsterile soil in comparison to sterile soil. Chickpea variety ICC 11322 showed the best result against the Fusarium wilt and chickpe...

Contrasting Potato Foliage and Tuber Defense Mechanisms against the Late Blight Pathogen Phytophthora infestans

The late blight pathogen Phytophthora infestans can attack both potato foliage and tubers. When inoculated with P. infestans, foliage of nontransformed 'Russet Burbank' (WT) develops late blight disease while that of transgenic 'Russet Burbank' line SP2211 (+RB) does not. We compared the foliar transcriptome responses of these two lines to P. infestans inoculation using an RNA-seq approach. A t...

Biocontrol of Phytophthora Blight and Anthracnose in Pepper by Sequentially Selected Antagonistic Rhizobacteria against Phytophthora capsici

We previously developed a sequential screening procedure to select antagonistic bacterial strains against Phytophthora capsici in pepper plants. In this study, we used a modified screening procedure to select effective biocontrol strains against P. capsici; we evaluated the effect of selected strains on Phytophthora blight and anthracnose occurrence and fruit yield in pepper plants under field ...

Mitigation of chilling and freezing stresses through colonization with arbuscular ‎mycorrhizal fungi in spring barley ‎

Cold stress is an ‎important limiting factor for cereal production. Barley is a host species for arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) with a high genetic diversity in response to cold stress. In order to explore the mechanisms for the ameliorative effect of AMF under cold stress, an experiment was undertaken using completely randomized block design with three factors including temperature treatme...

Caspian Coastal Forests: Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi and Understory Vegetation

Moist and temperate Caspian forests are associated with a diversity of soil types and topography.  Although, natural history and ecological attributes of the Caspian vegetation is well-documented, little is known about mycorrhizae of the Caspian (Hyrcanian) flora. Samples of herbaceous plant species were collected from 4 pre-determined altitudes (-13 upto about 1500m above sea level, appro...
